BAMPFA Student Committee

WELCOME!

The BAMPFA Student Committee is a student-run and operated organization that works closely with the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA) to connect UC Berkeley students with the museum and the larger Bay Area art scene.

Within the museum, we advocate for students’ interests by engaging with staff and the Board of Trustees. We accept applications for new members at the beginning of each semester.

The Student Committee works collaboratively within our sub-committees to organize and publicize events, curate art and film exhibitions, publish zines, and write blogs—we ultimately work to give a platform to student artists and enthusiasts in any way we can!

SUB-COMMITTEES

MARKETING

In charge of bringing our campus, community, and museum together by promoting events and engaging with students. Through posters, tabling, and social media we help spread information about the Student Committee.

ART CURATORIAL

Works as the connection between BAMPFA and the Student Committee. We create opportunities for students to experience art in many forms and to make sure that the students are engaged with artists and art alike.

ZINE

Dedicated to promoting UC Berkeley students' art and forming a direct, tangible link between BAMPFA and the university. We collaborate with local artists in order to create a lovingly curated booklet that is given a new theme each semester. Check out our past zines here!

WEB/BLOG

Responsible for designing and maintaining the Student Committee website. We ensure that the website is kept up to date with the latest information. We also provide a space for members of the Student Committee to share their opinions and thoughts about all forms of art. Check out the "Blog" page for recent posts!

SOCIALS

Dedicated to bonding our members through art-focused events and activities. Our committee prioritizes unity and friendship between our members through Bay Area-wide activities that interest our members.

FILM

Film acts as a liaison with the museum's film department and selects movies from their current series' so that Cal students know what they should come see. SC Picks hopes to create a BAMPFA screening club and to program their own film series in the near future. Check out the committee's curated film picks here!
